Create a Splash with these 6 Backsplash Trends

There are different ways you can add texture, color and style to your kitchen backsplash. Beautiful Kitchen Renovations Calgary & Edmonton has put together some examples for you below:

1. Subway Tiles

Subway tiles are a timeless classic and at the same time an affordable option. Finishing the tiles with pewter grout to achieve your desired look. Subway times are versatile such that you can stack them vertically similar to a brick formation or add extra flare by stacking them slanting in herringbone formation.

2. Patterned Tile

Porcelain, ceramic, natural stone and/or cement tiles come in many different patterns, colors and styles such as fun, bold, elegant etc.

3. Two-Way Tile

Mixing things up can make your kitchen look more stylish. For e.g. Using one backsplash for your kitchen and a stylish tile on the front of the kitchen island.

4. Shiplap / Wall Planks

Shiplap is becoming an alternative to tile. Depending on the mood you want to create and the statement you want to make, you can color it for e.g. for a bright and cozy traditional farmhouse look, it can be painted white and for a darker, moodier kitchen it can be painted in a darker color. These wall planks can be hung horizontally or vertically.

5. Wallpaper

Wallpaper is an option to consider if you are looking for something that offers easy application and removal.

6. Mosaic Tile

Mosaic Tiles come in many different variety of colors, materials, patterns and finishes. They are best suited for kitchens where other elements in the kitchen such as countertops and cabinets are not so busy, as mosaic titles can be busy and showstoppers on their own. They typically come in square foot sheets from square shapes to marble rectangles to glass lantern shape to penny rounds.
